Singer/songwriter/producer Kristian DeLayne Fountain was born on February 18,1987. Her love for music developed at a very young age and she has been site reading and playing the saxophone since 12. She grew up in a metro-Detroit Christian household of singers, where gospel music was a vital tool in molding her musical ability and interest. Although gospel was at her forefront, she attributes her love for music to a wide range of R&B, Neo-soul, Hip-Hop and Rock artists, some of which are Lauryn Hill, Brandy, and Jill Scott. She approaches music with an open mind and her songs are a reflection of her diverse musical background.
"Most of the music I sing and write is inspired by my own life experiences and/or the life experiences of those around me. Many different people and groups have influenced and motivated me to do what I do. But my number one influence is God who gave me my gift and everything I do is a way for me to showcase that gift to the world."
Kristian began singing at a young age in her church choir and her talent and love for singing developed in middle school when she began singing in her middle school choir. It was not until college that her hobby of singing began to evolve into a career. While receiving her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, she was also beginning to write and develop her skill by taking music classes, ranging from audio recording to music theory. She went on to join the aspiring Christian group O1ne Way where she began to cultivate her stage presence and overall musicianship. She has sung every part from tenor to soprano. Her specialized talent has landed her opportunities to work with artists such as Lewd Society and Tony Detroit. She has also performed for Detroit's Paradise Music Festival at Hart Plaza, The Detroit Artist Village, TV Lounge Detroit, and Prive Deux to name a few.
As she grows, her love for music grows with her. Kristian puts her heart and soul into everything she sings, writes, and produces.
Kristian is currently working to complete her debut solo album, which should be released before the end of 2013.
